Assessment of the individual is accomplished through extensive interviews and completion by the individual of career assessment inventories and a Personal Background Information Summary. The Personal Background Information Summary is designed to enumerate the individual’s background, work experience, accomplishments, talents, management style, strengths, weaknesses, motivation and personal values.

As an integral part of the career transition process, First Transitions provides career assessment through personality type and interest inventory testing by a qualified career consultant. These instruments include:

The purpose of these inventories is to assist in the identification of the individual’s skills, needs, interests, values and leadership style. This phase consists of an initial meeting with the individual to explain this segment of the program, as well as providing the written instructions and passwords for completing the online assessment tools. Once completed, a feedback meeting will be scheduled which will require approximately 3 hours. This meeting will serve to evaluate and summarize strengths and weaknesses, establish personal and professional objectives and to recommend steps to achieve objectives.
