Deborah has over 25 years of human resource management and organizational development consulting experience. As an OD consultant, she worked for Ernst & Young, The Hay Group and Modern Management specializing in the health care industry. She was also the head of her own consulting firm for over five years. Deborah specialized in organizational change processes, productivity improvement programs, employee opinion surveys, executive coaching, team building, leadership and management training. She also conducted competency-based performance appraisal programs and company-wide internal reorganization processes.
In addition to her consulting experience, Deborah was the Director of Human Resources at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago, Illinois; she was the Manager of Human Resources at Michael Reese Hospital and was the Manager of Employee and Labor Relations at the Chicago Healthcare Council. She was also the Managing Director of Corporate Resources for Cohen Financial. In these capacities, she directed a culture change process; initiated an internal university program; developed a 360-degree performance review system; facilitated self-directed work teams and TQM committees. She also developed and conducted employee opinion surveys, compensation studies and internal employee newsletters.
In the area of large-scale organizational change processes, Deborah worked in partnership with clients, to coordinate initial culture and focus assessments that typically started with strategic planning, development of mission/vision/values, organizational redesign and/or employee opinion surveys. During the actual redesign phase, she facilitated process change committees and problem-solving teams in addition to providing on-going executive coaching and management training. She provided the expertise for the design and implementation of management tools, team building and communication processes to build the necessary infrastructure to support the organizational change. She worked closely with all levels of management and employees to assist them in developing their own skills to successfully continue the change process.
Deborah holds a B.A. in History from St. Mary's College, South Bend, Indiana and an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, Lake Forest, Illinois. She is a qualified interpreter of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). She is a noted speaker and seminar leader for numerous associations and groups including A.S.P.A., A.S.H.R.A., the American Bar Association, HRMAC, and various CEO roundtables.
